The Confident Cutting Scorecard

Five sections decide whether a haircut works. Score a stylist out of ten on each one and you can see, in about a minute, exactly where their cutting falls apart and what to fix first. Seven or more in every line is a pass.

Two sheets below. The first is what we fill in for every student on a session. The second is for salon owners: score your whole team and the training gap shows itself.

What to work on next
Pass is 7 or more in every line. Anything under 7 is the thing to practise before the next session, and it is the reason live-model days are earned rather than bought. Nobody cuts on a real person until the sections are automatic.

Who needs what, and by when
Score honestly and the pattern is usually the same: one or two people carrying every short cut and every difficult consultation, and everyone else quietly avoiding them. The ones who leave are the ones nobody invested in.

Sessions run six students to one teacher, 10am to 5pm, mannequin head included. We can invoice the salon, or come to you. academy.noelhalligan.com · 0117 403 0998
